The Neurological Society of India (NSI) is organising its 64th annual conference, NSICON-2015 in Hyderabad. The conference is being held by the twin cities’ Neuro Club, hosted by Brain and Spine Society with the theme Controversy to Consensus’.
The president of NSI, Prof Bhawani Shankar Sharma, informed that NSI was a comprehensive body of neurosurgeons, neurologists, neuro-radiologists, neuro-pathologists and other allied neurological health professionals.
Prof VP Singh, secretary of NSI said that medical science was in a state of constant flux with rapid advances and the annual scientific meeting was an attempt to cover those advances and improve patient care while complimenting with other medical specialties.
Senior consultant neurosurgeion Dr Manas Panigrahi said that risk and complications form a part of any surgical procedure and especially neurosurgery. However, the negative stigma associated with surgery generally exaggerates the perceived risk from the actual risk.
