Islamabad, July 18 Pakistan has sought an explanation from India over a statement made by a former CBI officer regarding the terror attacks on the Indian parliament in 2001 and in Mumbai in 2008, a minister said Thursday.
Information Minister Parvez Rasheed told Geo News that Pakistan would issue its response to the statement made by the former Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer after a response was received from India.
The report said a member of a special investigating team of the CBI alleged that the Indian government had “orchestrated” the attacks of parliament and in Mumbai.
It said an affidavit submitted by a former Indian home ministry official in the Supreme Court of India said that he was informed by the unnamed CBI officer that both the terror attacks were staged with the “objective of strengthening the country’s counter-terror legislation”.
